The Bowling Association for the Disabled (Singapore) or “BADS” in short, was registered in April 2010 to support, promote and encourage bowling as an avenue for sporting achievement and participation. The objective is to encourage the disabled to take up bowing as a form of sports to build up their confidence and self-esteem. We have represented Singapore and attained amazing results every year, which include:
Although BADS is a National Disability Sports Association (NDSA), funding is provided on a limited and competitive basis. BADS needs funding support of up to S$200,000 annually to support its programmes. The funds are apportioned according to the needs of each programme or activity. It is noteworthy to highlight that we were the fastest entity to be given the Institute of Public Character recognition due to our strong emphasis on corporate governance.
